Meet The Team

MWDW is made up of a small team of passionate operational staff, volunteers, and trustees.

Each summer we are joined by a group of voluntary research and outreach assistants, known as the Dolphineers, who are integral to our field season.

Jen Adams – Outreach and Education Manager

Jen has been with Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch since 2012, first as a research volunteer, before returning in 2013 to set up the Outreach and Education Department.

With a background and passion in environmental education, Jen learnt about marine mammal science on the job, whilst developing areas in which this science can be demonstrated to young people.

Jens position is funded by the Manx Lottery Trust and the Scheinberg Family.

Bryony Manley – Researcher

Bryony Manley first got involved with Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch in the summer of 2013 as part of her MSc in Marine Environmental Management. She then returned in 2014 to undertake a short acoustic monitoring project funded by People’s Trust for Endangered Species.

With degrees in marine biology and extensive experience on cetacean research projects around the world Bryony was delighted to return to the Isle of Man in 2017 to continue the research work of the charity.

Currently Bryony’s vital research position is not funded and is undertaken on a part-time voluntary basis.

Tom Felce – Researcher

Tom has worked in marine mammal science for over 20 years. He moved to the Isle of Man in 2007 to set up systematic surveys of cetaceans in Manx waters and has been conducting research work for MWDW ever since.
