The Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch surveys and records cetacean sightings around the Isle of Man and works in collaboration with the Manx Wildlife Trust and the Sea Watch Foundation of the UK.

The Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch gathers sightings from the public and a network of observers around the Isle of Man and all sightings data are submitted to the Sea Watch Foundation for inclusion in their database.

We are particularly grateful for the generous support of the Isle of Man Government through their Dept of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry - Conservation and Wildlife Division and the Dept of Tourism and Leisure. 

We are grateful to them for their financial and scientific support as well as their promotion of our work, all of  which increases public awareness of these endangered and threaten species in our waters.

Would you like to join the boat-based survey team ?

We have been undertaking boat based whale and dolphin surveys throughout Manx waters for the last three seasons.

We use our own survey boat 'Grampus' and survey out to 12 miles offshore but only when the sea is calm and flat - no rough weather whatsoever , so you don't have to be a keen sailor, just enjoy watching whales and dolphins.

Full training will be given, we go out weekends and week days, you just have to be over 18 and be fit enough to climb the steps to the flybridge.
