We had a fantastic turn out to our film night last Saturday, with the insightful documentary ‘A Plastic Ocean’ drawing crowds of environmentally aware Manx citizens to Peel’s Centenary Centre. Representatives from environmental groups, dive clubs and conscious members of the public made up the audience.

The film explores the consequences of our plastic filled lifestyle and really open viewers minds to the devastating effects single-use plastics have on our marine environment. It also explains how individuals really can make a difference and provides tips on what you can do to help. We cannot remove all of this plastic from the oceans but what we can do it stop more going in. See the Plastic Ocean website to find out more and to download the film to watch yourself for £5. A Plastic Ocean is also available on Netflix.

Thank you to the Manx Society for the Preservation of the Countryside and Environment for funding this event.

Thank you to everyone who attended on the night and made the event a success. We have received queries asking if we will be doing another screening later in the year. Please keep an eye on the website and our facebook page for details as we may put on a screeing in Douglas during the winter.
