Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch (MWDW) has been at the forefront of marine mammal science on the Isle of Man since 2006.
We work voluntarily year round to ensure the safeguarding of whales, dolphins, and porpoises (cetaceans) in Manx territorial waters through non-invasive research and public awareness efforts.

Here is some fintastic footage of Moonlight and Starlight from the Ayres Visitor Centre on Saturday 12th June 2021- thanks to Steven Elkins at Go Green Isle of Man. This footage shows us Starlight's growth rate; at the age of 21 months you can see she is still significantly smaller than Moonlight and it will take her a good few years to reach adult size. This pair have been seen a lot over the last week, with sightings very close to shore including lobbing fish through the air in Peel bay. This method of hunting stuns the fish making them easier to consume. We have so much love for our resident dolphin duo. Please remember they came very close to shore and remain mindful of this when operating any form of vessel especially within Peel bay. It is always best (and very easy) to watch this pair from land. ... See MoreSee Less
