Designer of Junior Interpretation Materials (can be home-based)
Our Education Manager is looking for someone to help design and create a stockpile of children’s activities for use in junior membership packs. Examples include; word searches, quizzes, spot the difference, colouring in, fun facts, food chain diagrams. All activities will have a focus of cetaceans with an emphasis on Manx species. Will suit someone oozing with creativity, artistic flair and importantly, a firm understanding of how to appeal to children aged 5-14. The ideal volunteer can either work from our office once a week or work from home.
Boat Skippers/crew: We need more hands on deck to help skipper and crew our research vessel. Skippers will need to have boat handling experience, day skipper and radio license and be a competent seafarer. Crew must be physically strong with good rope skills. A knowledge of Manx territorial waters is desirable. Experience of diesel engines and boat electrics would be useful. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our pro-active boat team and have the opportunity of witnessing some truly unforgettable wildlife encounters whilst on survey trips.
Boat survey team: No experience needed but you must be a dedicated team member and wildlife enthusiast. Please note that all boat surveys are subject to the weather and can be arranged at short notice. Volunteers with flexibility would be preferred.
Land-based survey team: No experience needed but you must be a wildlife enthusiast with good eyesight! Please see http://www.mwdw.net/land-based-surveyor-network/ for details of the project
We are looking for people to help fundraise for us, this could involve organising and running events, raising money through office dress down days, bingo’s, Mhelliahs, bake sales, maintaining collection tins or looking for potential funding bodies. Please get in touch to discuss further.
